Question to the philosophers

To all the philosophers out there, I pose this question to you

Why is there a need for people to be with you

Why is there a need for people to need you

a psychologist would have us believe that we've had it since before history has recorded it. That we survive better if we need each other around, because a close group is harder to fight against than any one of its members. Longing to be needed is also something that makes being a parent something to look forward to.
